LONDON, Aug 4 (SW) - Nigerian starlet Jon Obi Mikel is pleased to have a tumultuous transfer saga behind him and finally have arrived at Chelsea.
The 19-year-old midfielder was at the centre of a dispute between Chelsea, Manchester Untied and Norwegian club Lynn Oslo. Mikel had originally agreed a move to United, but then recanted, saying that he had been forced to put pen to paper and truly wanted to join Chelsea.
Chelsea finally agreed to pay United £12 million and Lyn Oslo £4 million.
Despite the legal wrangling, Mikel was always certain he would become a Chelsea player.
"For all I knew it was definitely going to be like this, ending happily with me coming to Chelsea because it's where I want to play. It's where I've been wanting to play for a long time.
"I'm very happy it's all ended like this now so I can now play for the club of my dreams."
