TSG Hoffenheim's good performance in the last two matches has come to a painful halt at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. Leverkusen took the points and a lot of confidence after a 5-2 win.
Bayer needed only seventeen minutes to take a comfortable 2-0 lead with goals from Haggui and Friedrich, but Ibisevic got one back in the 21st minute to give his side renewed hope.
Kieszling restored Bayer's two-goal advantage in the 36th minute though, and TSG needed a long time to react. The underdogs were given a penalty in the 58th minute as Ibisevic was taken down by defender Djakpa, and Salihovic sent goalkeeper Fernandez the wrong way.
But Hoffenheim would not score a third. In fact, Leverkusen increased their gap with goals from Barnetta in the 83rd minute and Kieszling in the 87th.
